Sports Recovery Therapy:
Unleashing the Power of the Game

'This form of cold sports recovery Polar Chill Mobile Cryo Vans rolled out, instantly became a ‘hit’ for athlete safety and health. Immediately the benefits for the athletes were embraced and appreciated as athletes as well as their coaches and athletic trainers - it created a safe game. By being a very affordable service, thirty seconds of a walk from the playing field benches, it opened the door to a substantial cool-off period. The short timed ‘Frozen-Air’ sessions on the spot eliminated sore fatigued muscles instantly and invigorated each player within minutes only to bring out the athletes’ maximum potential during the next competitive game. The concept was loved by all, the players, their coaches and of course the parents of the athletes were extremely appreciative knowing a multi-game tournament can take a toll on the well-being of their children.

Our Story

‘The owner of Cryo MD, a Maryland wellness center with high-tech modalities for recovery and strength-conditioning for local athletes, realized that if there was a mobile side to his business then it would not only bring in great revenue away from center but it would obviously brand the wellness center more and attract new customers to the storefront facility.’

The parents of young athletes would bring their children into Cryo MD / APB Lab during sports tournaments. Parents mentioned again and again - "It would be great if Cryo MD could come to the tournaments to offer recovery services, so we don't have to drive 30 minutes to the center each day." So, we answered their call by coming up with some ideas on alternative forms of full body cryotherapy that offered very similar results to the storefront chambers (Nitrogen or Electric). We researched, experimented with interior 'Stay--Cool' designs, pretty much did our homework to make sure the parameters (temperatures/duration of treatment) for the cold recovery of athletes were met with success.

June 2023 The Ice Cave Cryotherapy by Cryo MD was Born!

Along with all the different club sports tournaments we attended in our first summer we realized that Run Festivals/Marathons were a great fit for the Ice Cave Cryotherapy.

Soon Cryo MD was asked to attend member tournaments at private golf courses in the fall season.

Moving into early winter Cryo MD had visiting university athletic teams asking if we could come to their overnight hotel or near the playing fields of the where they had warm-up practice a couple hours before their big game.

With all this success Cryo MD made the move to file Intellectual Property Rights on their ‘Stay-cool’ interior engineering and offer this mobile model for anyone to purchase.

Old Mobile Cryo Vehicles vs. Polar Chill Mobile Cryo

Many businesses had already attempted to build mobile cryo on wheels whether it was in a trailer hitched to a truck or install actual $60K - $100 single chambers into an $80K+ van.  There were numerous problems with these mobile setups. To name a few:

Out with the old.
1

You had to carry explosive tanks of Nitrogen (Dangerous and Unsafe).

2

The chamber would only cater to one athlete at a time.

3

Mobile sessions were expensive.

4

Extremely expensive to build out the interior of the mobile cryo.

5

Every overpriced because you must purchase an actual cryo chamber for interior installation.

In with the new!
1

No more nitrogen or nitrogen tanks / All-Electric Frozen Air Sessions

2

Polar Chill vestibule allows up to 10 bodies at once, all seated in chairs.

3

Price per athlete/user is substantially less since it seats up to 10 people.

4

The patent-pending ‘stay-cool’ interior of the ‘Frozen-Air’ vestibule has minimal build-out investment.

5

This pioneering mobile full body cryo is substantially priced lower than what other mobile cryo vehicles cost.

Our Intellectual Property Design

Our interior 'stay-cool' design (Patent-Pending) was invented so, as athletes would come in and out of the back door of the mobile unit, the cold temperatures or cold air from the interior portions of the seating area would be preserved and not flow out the door. This insulated engineering design (breakthrough concept) was accomplished through research and development. Without this ‘stay-cool’ blueprint the vestibule interior would dramatically lose the sub-freezing temperatures we needed for physiological bio-internal results for physical athletic recovery and endurance boosting for multiple groups of athletes.

It is All About Timing: License/Own a Mobile Cryo Unit!

Our interior 'stay-cool' design (Patent-Pending) was invented so as athletes could come in in and out of the back door of the van thus preserving the cold temperatures or cold air from the interior portions of the seating area where athletes enter and exit. Through our research and development, we had to orchestrate an inventive blueprint or else the vehicle would dramatically lose the cold temperature we needed for recovery results.

Cryotherapy Storefronts

Brand your wellness center at large athletic events.

Cryo MD / CryoMaryland.com usually has 5-20 cryotherapy customers a day at the center. The Ice Cave Cryo does on average 15-24 athletes per hour. Many events are all day so imagine the numbers after 6-7 hours of continuous operation. Even shorter time sporting events like Golf Tournaments and Running Festivals for a 2–3-hour time slot can bring in 40-50 paying customers and obviously new customers to your storefront wellness center.

~You have an average of 4-6 customers every 15 minutes that sit socially in chairs in the ‘Frozen-Air’ room inside your van and fully recover physically and mentally. For those of you that remember when water used to be free (now it feels like we purchase water at timers to stay alive. Yikes!), well now you can sell cold recovery for large groups of athletes or, plain and simple, YOU CAN SELL AIR! But wait! This is not any ordinary air….…It is…… (Drum Roll)…… ‘Frozen Air’! And FYI – All the Athletes (thousands in the 1st three months of events) that we have encountered have no problem paying us for cold air!!! They leave smiling and feeling amazing. They tell others at the event, and they even come back to pay again for a second round of the Frozen-Air Session before they head home for the day.

Physical Therapy/ Strength Training Centers

The Physical Therapy (PT)industry is very different than what it was 40 years ago. PT businesses are not only helping those after surgery, but they are catering ‘strength-training’ services to young athletes that want to compete in sports at the next level. And the older generation that want to hold onto the ‘Fountain-of-Youth’ are working with PT therapist to keep the body fit and strong. There has been a surge of PT businesses that have custom designed mobile trailers that open up to rooms with lounge chairs, compression sleeves and TheraMassage guns. These mobile PT companies go to large athletic events (Running Events & Member Golf Tournaments at private clubs to name a few) to build relationships with the athletes at the contest. Branding the PT company and meeting athletes of all ages

Universities /College Teams All Over Campus

Player Safety & Health is at an all-time high in awareness. For instance, the gear that players wear can make the difference between head concussions and coming out without injury. Core body temperatures regarding heat control/a heat illness can happen just as easily inside of a college facility in the northern part of the country in the dead of winter, as it can at a summer outdoor practice in the south during the hottest months of summer. The ‘Polar Chill Mobile Cryo’ is a natural for minimizing heat exhaustion, rejuvenating athletes instantly which translates to feeling more alert for games/for classes and everything in between. When a school has access to a cold recovery van that can move around campus to different athletic fields and different athletic facilities it saves time and money when athletes can avoid trekking across campus to the trainer’s room. Trainers can focus on more important issues. Being able to offer a ‘Frozen-Air’ full body recovery instantly after games/practices for 6-8 collegiate athlete at a time has more profound results than a single 20-minute ice bath. Louisianna State University is ahead of the game -(Google the words ‘LSU body recovery zone’ and watch the Youtube Video about the LSU Athletic Staff with their refrigerated storage trailer for the LSU athletes.)

Polar Chill Mobile Cryo Independent Owners.
(Requires Licensing Contract)

During and post COVID we adapted to many having a mobile business. It was destined to be the wave of the future. We saw restaurants design their own food trucks; medical companies took their services out on the road to avoid mass numbers of patients and staff members in closed building rooms. Even pre-COVID we had many types of mobile businesses. As an example, pet grooming vans were around 10 – 15 years ago. Kona Ice Trucks has offered profitable franchising business opportunities, for 10+ years now, for those wanting to invest in a mobile business. There are over 1200 Kona Ice trucks now so cooling down athletes with snowballs at sporting events and has appeared to be a ‘Homerun’ for those that purchased a franchise. What if you had a similar form of cold-recovery business opportunity and had a licensed territory in your state where tournaments/athletic events occurred daily? What if your product was ‘Frozen-Air’ which equates to no overhead, no product to purchase for this sale. You have an average of 4-6 customers every 15 minutes that sit socially in chairs in the ‘Frozen-Air’ room inside your van and fully recover physically and mentally. For those of you that remember when water used to be free (now it feels like we purchase water at timers to stay alive. Yikes!), well now you can sell cold recovery for large groups of athletes or, plain and simple, YOU CAN SELL AIR! But wait! This is not any ordinary air….…It is……(Drum Roll)…… ‘Frozen Air’! This is a Grand Slam!!

    Cryotherapy Marketplace

The global cryotherapy market was valued at USD 6.96 billion in 2022 and is expected to grow at an annual rate of 7.0% from 2023 to 2030. Of that 46%, or $3.2 billion, is in the United States. Some of the major factors propelling the growth are the rising demand for minimally invasive procedures, the high prevalence of skin disorders & chronic diseases, and an increase in demand for cryotherapy in beauty & wellness clinics, fitness centers, and pain management.

Moreover, cryotherapy recently gained more traction in beauty & aesthetics. Also, athletes and celebrities are embracing it as a new trend.  Chamber therapy is getting popular among athletes and sportspersons. Several research studies have been published on sports injuries-based cryotherapy treatments and their effects on various sports-related outcomes, such as muscle pain, damage & soreness, and delayed onset of muscle soreness.

The fitness segment is anticipated to register the fastest growth rate of more than 12.0% from 2022 to 2030 due to increased awareness about the benefits of cryotherapy in sports coupled with a rise in the adoption of cryo chambers in fitness clubs. This can be attributed to its ability to stimulate natural healing in the body and provide faster pain relief. Delayed Onset of Muscle Soreness (DOMS) is broadly defined as muscular pain, stiffness, and tenderness observed post a high-intensity workout regime. Cryotherapy can be used for faster relief from DOMS.

Where Does Polar Chill Fit In?

These mobile units are accessible and inclusive to a much wider audience than Cryotherapy chambers. Think of it as entry level Cryo.

Our innovative mobile cryo vans target the sports and fitness segment of the market.  There are many obvious opportunities in youth and adult sports. Athletes of all abilities and ages are our target market.
